Students in KS2 are aged between 5 and 11, and as such their attention span is significantly shorter than Secondary School Students. The tutors we introduce are well practiced at running shorter activities and learning episodes for students in KS2 to help overcome this.
Tutors are aware that students handwriting and written methods in KS2 may still be developing, so a lot of activities at this stage involve drawing or physical resources, to improve a student’s confidence rather than dwelling on the written element of their Maths.
The tutors we introduce also try and incorporate games and competition into their sessions, particularly with skills where repetition is important such as times tables.
