Total Maths Tutoring believes that all children and young people have the right to learn in a safe and caring environment. This includes the right to protection from all types of abuse. Those of us in a position of trust have to do everything possible to foster these rights. To do this, certain protections need to be in place to protect children, as well as those who work with them. Total Maths Tutoring takes seriously its responsibility towards safeguarding all children who engage with the company, with the focus being on their safety and welfare. We have appointed a Designated Safeguarding Lead who is responsible for dealing with safeguarding concerns, providing advice, support and training to Tutors and working with a range of other agencies where necessary to promote the safety of our Tutees.

We have a robust child protection policy in place. This policy is guided and referenced against the DfE’s publication ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2020’ and the ‘NSPCC Website (November 2020)’.

We expect a high level of professionalism from all of the tutors we work with and, as such, have issued all of our tutors Guidance on Conduct and Behaviour which can be found here.
As part of our Chid Protection Policy we have robust procedures in place for reporting concerns. All concerns are reported via our Safeguarding Concern Reporting Form which can be found here.

To ensure that all Tutors, Parents and Students are aware of best practice for delivering safe online and face-to-face tutoring sessions, we have produced a visual guide which can be found here.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and adults that come into contact with our services. As a company we expect this same commitment from everyone we work with and as such we have a comprehensive safeguarding framework which guides our recruitment process. This process includes thorough vetting of all Tutors via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Details of our full safer recruitment process can be found here.
Although the ultimate responsibility for health and safety remains with the individual tutors, parents or students, we have adopted procedures to identify and investigate accidents, their source and hence their underlying causes to mitigate future occurrences.
