At Total Maths Tutoring, we understand that when you hire a private tutor, you are making an investment in your child’s education. Total Maths Tutoring introduce tutors who deliver high quality, professional, well structured maths tutoring programs to students of all ages and abilities in the comfort of their own home. They are experts in their field, qualified and experienced at working with students to increase confidence, awareness & knowledge, before ultimately helping them reach their goals in formal exams.

What makes us different?

All of our tutors we introduce possess the following qualities

Excellent subject knowledge

The tutors we introduce are all well qualified mathematicians who know their subject inside and out, as well as understanding the various misconceptions students can have. They are constantly looking for new and better ways to explain concepts to students.

Experience as an educator

The tutors we introduce all have a good amount of previous experience, by teaching in schools or as private tutors. They draw on their experiences to communicate information to students in lots of different ways, using the latest advances in teaching theory to guide their lessons.

Enthusiastic and motivational

Most students who struggle in maths do so because they have lost confidence and don’t see the value in the subject. The tutors we introduce help them see that maths can be fun, and that they can achieve if they apply themselves in the right way.

How do we support our students?

All of the tutors we introduce have individual methods and teaching styles but in general will all follow the same path.

Firstly, they will assess the student’s grasp of the basic fundamentals and plan sessions accordingly, then they will address the topics that require improvement. When exam time gets close, sessions tend to focus more around exam technique and affective strategies to help answer exam style questions
